2024 – 25 Postgraduate Scholarships for UK, Germany, France & Malaysia. The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), a Federal Government agency tasked with developing indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology for the oil and gas industry, is accepting applications from qualified candidates for its Overseas MSc and Ph.D. scholarships for specific programs at selected institutions. 2024 – 25 Postgraduate Scholarships, this initiative aims to provide candidates with access to a diverse range of knowledge and facilities offered by top-tier institutions worldwide.

What does the Scholarship Cover?

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must target PTDF partner universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia.

Selection Process, Criteria & Requirements

PTDF scholarships are highly competitive, and only outstanding candidates are selected based on:

• Academic merit, including degrees, transcripts, and professional qualifications
• Relevant publications (PhD applicants)
• Membership in professional bodies
• Viability and relevance of the study plan
• Previous studies’ relevance to the oil and gas industry

MSc Requirements

• Minimum Second Class Upper (2.1) or Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
• Completion of mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
• Computer literacy
• 5 O/level credits, including English Language and Mathematics
• Statement of purpose (maximum 500 words)

PhD Requirements

• Completion of mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
• Computer literacy
• 5 O/level credits, including English Language and Mathematics
• Minimum Second Class Lower (2.2) in first degree and a good post-graduate degree
• Research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than five pages)

Applicants must scan and attach copies of the following documents to their online application forms:

• First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result
• NYSC discharge certificate
• WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results
• Recent Passport Photograph
• Local Government Identification Letter
• Master’s Degree Certificate (PhD Applicants only)
• Evidence of membership in professional associations
